HOSTELS

Hostels are often located in renovated historic buildings. Hostel means that, at the minimum, there will be some dormitory accommodation. Hostels usually also have common areas, a youthful and traveler orientation, and information on the local area and travel to other locations. The concept of hostels started in about 1910 in Germany and are now found internationally. San Diego has a range of hostels all located close to restaurants, parks, or waterfronts.
